Let's start building a care package together!

We Are Here for You!

Peace of Hope is a non-profit organization that creates care packages for women and families grieving the loss of a child to stillbirth, SIDSs, or other complications.

Each care package is custom made and filled with items that helped me during my own grieving process. They commonly include; a folder with references and poems, a CD, a journal, a necklace, an ornament with your loved one’s name on it, and other thoughtful items. You or your loved one will be provided and sent to one of these care packages at absolutely no cost.

If you, or a mother you know, could benefit from a care package, please contact us today and we can begin to build the care package together.

Our Story

In 2012, my husband and I were expecting our first child together. I went to my 37-week appointment a little anxious because our baby’s movements had decreased. However, I had started having contractions and thought delivery would be soon.

At the appointment, my doctor could not find our baby’s heartbeat. I had an emergency ultrasound, which confirmed our worst fear: on September 28, 2012, Hunter Ryan Van Der Kolk was born full-term stillborn.

Fundraising - The Hunter Open

The Hunter Open is an annual golf scramble and dinner event that provides the majority of the funds Peace and Hope relies on to create and ship care packages to mothers and families. It’s a fun way to raise money for a good cause, and we sell out every year—so if you want to play, make sure you register early!

We are also always looking for sponsors to provide raffle prizes, as well as volunteers to help keep the event running smoothly. If you’re interested in playing, sponsoring, or volunteering, please let us know.
